Corinth and Alcorn County is a community abundant in recreational opportunities for visitors and residents.
The Corinth Hiking/Biking Trail begins at Trailhead Park in Historic Downtown Corinth and winds its way through Civil War sites, historic homes and other points of interest. Trailhead Park amenities include public restrooms, an entertainment/lecture platform, benches, interpretive exhibits, bike racks, and parking.
Ten golf courses within a half-hour's drive challenge the avid golfer's skills. Hillandale Country Club is a semi-private facility with an 18-hole golf course, pro-shop, four tennis courts, and swimming pool. Shiloh Ridge Athletic Club offers everything an active lifestyle demands, including Corinth's largest health club facility, featuring Cybex weight training machines and free weights, an indoor Badujet swimming pool, aerobics and pilates training, as well as, an on-staff personal trainer/nutritionist. The outdoor pool and sun deck are open seasonally, and an 18-hole championship golf course and four Rubico composition tennis courts are open to the public year-round for very reasonable rates. The Ridge Restaurant at Shiloh Ridge provides a generous selection of fine dining for both lunch and dinner and is open to the public.
Four state parks offer camping, picnicking, canoe rentals, fishing, and seasonal swimming. Nearby, Pickwick Lake provides over 40,000 acres for water skiing, boating, sailing, fishing, camping, and golf. Tuscumbia Wildlife Refuge supplies over 2,600 acres for hunting: dove, quail, duck, squirrel, and deer.
Crossroads Regional Park facilities are managed by the Corinth/Alcorn County Parks & Recreation Department. This park encompasses 38 acres for family recreation including six baseball/softball fields, a soccer field, ten tennis courts, a one mile asphalt walking/jogging trail, three picnic pavilions, and the Crossroads Fun Station, a state-of-the-art mega playground. E.S. Bishop Park is also managed by the Corinth/Alcorn County Parks & Recreation Department. This park offers 7 acres of enjoyment including one baseball/softball field, a picnic pavilion and a playground.
The Corinth Sportsplex offers aerobics, weight training, gymnastics, karate, swimming, basketball, baseball/softball, volleyball, soccer, and playground facilities. Adults and kids both enjoy the abundance of activities and programs available through the Sportsplex. The Sportsplex is open to the public, with membership benefits available.
Plaza Lanes, a 16-lane bowling center is equipped with automatic scoring lanes, video games, pool tables, and a refreshments center. Our local skating rink includes roller skating, concessions, and arcade games for the entire family.
The Crossroads Arena hosts a variety of happenings including conventions, concerts, trade shows, rodeos, and specialty events. The Arena floor is 150' X 300' with a seating capacity of 9,500. The Arena boasts amenities such as, a portable in-house stage, Lycian spotlights, a high quality sound system, in-house ticketing system, dressing rooms, meeting rooms, motorcoach parking, and RV hookups for overnight guests.
